Simple Seared Salmon

Ingredients:

  • 12oz wild caught salmon filet

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp dried dill (or other herb of choice)

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

Method:

  1. Lay salmon filets on cutting board, pat dry, and drizzle with 1 tbsp olive oil

  2. Then season with salt, garlic and onion powder, and dill

  3. Heat large pan on low-med heat, allow to heat through, then add 2 tbsp of olive oil to pan

  4. Once fully heated through place salmon filets flesh side down (oil should immediately sizzle) and depending on thickness cook for 6-8 min.

    * (When it’s time to flip, salmon should easily lift from pan. If not, let cook for another minute or two.

  5. Then flip filet and cook for another 2-4 minutes depending on thickness or until internal temp reaches about 135F.

  6. Remove from pan and squeeze with lemon juice

  7. Let cool and enjoy!
